Dominguez will chair the bank’s related party transactions and anti-money laundering committees and serve as a member of the corporate governance and nominations committee, subject to regulatory approvals. His appointment follows the end of Gabriel Claudio’s term, a stock exchange filing on Tuesday showed.
Dominguez brings over 40 years of experience, including his tenure as former President Rodrigo Duterte’s finance chief from 2016 to 2022, during which he also served on the BSP monetary board and represented the Philippines with the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, and International Monetary Fund.
He previously held leadership roles at BPI Agricultural Development Bank and Philippine Airlines and is a recipient of the Order of Lakandula and Japan’s Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun.
New board advisor
RCBC also named Yasunori Takahashi, a veteran banker with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp., as an advisory board member, also effective July 28.
Takahashi, a Keio University law graduate with more than 35 years in banking, will advise the anti-money laundering, corporate governance, audit, and related party committees and act as observer on the risk oversight committee.
