Insider Spotlight
The ceremony held on March 4 brought together executives from PHINMA Corp., PHINMA Hospitality, and JEPP Property Corp., the joint venture partner for the hotel project, alongside Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya.
The hotel will serve as the flagship hospitality component of Saludad, a master-planned township developed by PHINMA Properties along the Bacolod–Silay Airport Access Road.
Why it matters
The project expands PHINMA Hospitality’s national footprint while strengthening Bacolod’s positioning as an emerging tourism and investment hub in Western Visayas.
The TRYP brand, part of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, focuses on modern lifestyle stays tailored to local culture and urban energy.
For PHINMA, the Bacolod property also reinforces a broader ecosystem strategy that combines real estate, education, and hospitality within one township development.
“The goal is not just to build another hotel in Bacolod, but to build a hotel that feels unmistakably Bacolod. Bacolod is a city with strong identity and forward momentum, and TRYP was designed to reflect both,” Jose Mari del Rosario, chair and CEO of PHINMA Hospitality, said in a press statement on March 9, 2026.

Design elements of TRYP Bacolod will reflect the city’s cultural heritage, particularly the MassKara Festival, its sugar industry roots, and Bacolod’s celebrated culinary traditions.
Planned interiors will feature deep violet tones, textures inspired by sugarcane, and lighting fixtures modeled after caramelized pulled sugar. Terrazzo tiles and design accents will echo the vibrancy of festival masks and local artistry.
The hotel also aims to generate local employment while supporting the region’s growing tourism economy.
The bigger picture
TRYP Bacolod forms part of PHINMA’s wider investment push in Bacolod through its Saludad township, which integrates residential communities, commercial spaces, education, and hospitality.
The development will also host the first Southwestern University PHINMA campus outside Cebu City, along with residential projects such as Maayo Terraces and Likha Residences.
“Bacolod is a city of increasing importance to PHINMA due to its strong growth prospects and its overall role in driving regional progress in Negros,” said PHINMA Corp. chair and CEO Ramon R. del Rosario Jr.
