New DPWH chief seeks airport watch order for Discayas, execs in flood control probe

New Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon has asked the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Bureau of Immigration to place Sarah and Pacifico “Curly” Discaya , along with other construction executives flagged in the Senate flood control probe, on the immigration watchlist.  

The Discaya family’s network of firms, including Alpha & Omega General Contractor and Development Corp. and St. Timothy Construction Corp., is under scrutiny for allegedly cornering hundreds of government projects.

The Discayas have denied that their construction firms engaged in corruption or bribery to secure DPWH contracts

Dizon said the lookout request is part of President Marcos’ order to “clean house,” freeze all locally funded biddings, and tighten safeguards on DPWH’s multibillion-peso flood control program.

The request covers 26 names, including DPWH engineers and contractors.
