A new transparency initiative is being introduced by New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) aimed at enhancing passenger experience and improve accountability, the firm said on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

In a statement, the private operator managing Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) said that, under this system, real-time updates regarding flight and baggage delays will be shared with passengers through the airport’s public address system.

This proactive communication reduces passenger uncertainty and helps travelers make informed decisions without relying on unofficial sources of information.

To further extend this transparency, NNIC plans to release monthly performance reports, detailing operational metrics and attributing any delays to specific stakeholders.

NNIC’s transparency efforts also include updates on social media, making crucial operational information accessible to travelers on official channels. This approach helps to ease congestion at service counters, allowing airport staff to concentrate on swiftly resolving issues.

The operator said initiatives also extend beyond communications.

In the coming months, NNIC will implement infrastructure and system enhancements across NAIA, including a biometric system upgrade in collaboration with the Bureau of Immigration.

Additionally, it will support airlines in further investments in baggage-handling resources. These improvements align with NNIC’s commitment to optimizing NAIA’s efficiency, particularly during high-demand travel periods, the firm said.
