ShopeePay has partnered with payment gateway HitPay to expand digital payment access for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and consumers across the Philippines, as online transactions continue to surge.

The integration connects millions of ShopeePay users to thousands of online and physical merchants nationwide, including brands such as Jisulife, Aula Philippines, Chiron Activewear, Mad Bombs, Hale Manna, and Coastal Gardens.

Bridging gaps

The move aims to address persistent fragmentation in the country’s digital payments landscape, where multiple platforms and payment methods often lead to inconsistent checkout experiences, ShopeePay said in a company statement.

For many SMEs, this fragmentation also adds operational complexity and raises barriers to adopting digital payment solutions.

Unified system

By integrating ShopeePay into HitPay’s payment infrastructure, the partnership provides a more unified and streamlined payment pathway for both consumers and merchants.

ShopeePay users can now make seamless and secure transactions across more businesses nationwide using a familiar platform.

For merchants, the integration consolidates ShopeePay into a single gateway, simplifying payment processing while improving checkout efficiency and conversion rates.

It also enables faster and more reliable payment collection for transactions such as subscriptions and recurring payments.

Expanded features

Through the integration, HitPay merchants can now support ShopeePay’s core payment services, including wallet-based payments, “buy now, pay later” via SPayLater, and transactions through linked MariBank accounts.

These options aim to give consumers greater flexibility while helping businesses cater to evolving payment preferences.

Industry push

ShopeePay said the partnership supports its goal of expanding financial inclusion and making digital payments more accessible.

“At ShopeePay, we’re committed to giving users easy access to digital payment services,” said Hazel Sumampong, head of product and marketing at ShopeePay.

“Our integration with HitPay strengthens this mission by making digital payments more convenient for users and more empowering for businesses,” she added.

HitPay CEO Aditya Haripurkar said the collaboration comes at a critical time as mobile wallets dominate e-commerce transactions in the Philippines.

“By embedding ShopeePay directly into HitPay, we are enabling our merchants to capture this shift in consumer behavior and connect seamlessly with millions of active users,” he said.

Growing adoption

With the integration now live, HitPay merchants can immediately accept ShopeePay for both online and offline transactions.
