In a statement, the firm said this collaboration aims to provide a “seamless and convenient” cashless payment option for customers, expanding beep’s presence beyond its current network.
The partnership banks on GHL’s large network of retail and service merchants to ensure smooth transactions for beep card users.
As envisioned, customers will be able to use their beep cards for in-store purchases at GHL partner merchants, enhancing accessibility and ease of use.
“The partnership with GHL Systems Philippines highlights our dedication to innovation and enhancing the customer experience,” said Jonathan Juan “JJ” Moreno, president and CEO of AF Payments.
“By making transactions more convenient and accelerating the shift towards cashless payments, we are taking a significant step forward in our mission to elevate the digital payment landscape in the Philippines,” he added.
The integration with GHL Systems is part of beep’s broader strategy to expand card acceptance across the market.
The onboarding of retail partners will be implemented in phases, allowing beep users to make cashless payments in more locations over time. Through GHL’s network, which spans the Asia-Pacific region, beep aims to make payments faster, safer, and more efficient for both customers and merchants.
Currently, the beep card is used for transportation, including the LRT 1, LRT 2, MRT 3, select bus lines, and modern jeepneys. It is also accepted in partner retail outlets and can be reloaded through offline and online channels.
