Longtime executive and former CEO Kingson Sian is stepping down from several roles within tycoon Andrew Tan’s Alliance Global Group in a major management shakeup at one of the country’s largest business groups.

Sian retired from property giant Megaworld Corp. and Travellers International Hotel Group effective Saturday, June 1, 2024, separate statements from the group showed on Monday.

Sian first joined Megaworld as senior vice president in 1995 and has been a director of the company since 2007.

The board appointed Lourdes T. Gutierrez-Alfonso as director to serve Sian’s unexpired term. Gutierrez-Alfonso is also the company’s chief operating officer and has been with Megaworld since 1990.

Sian also retired from Travellers on Saturday and will be replaced by Nilo Thaddeus Rodriguez as president and CEO, operator of Newport World Resorts.

Travellers also appointed Lance Gautreaux as chief operating officer, effective June 1 this year.

“Sian had initially deferred his planned retirement in 2022 to lead the company through the transition period,” the company said of the former company leader, who was at the helm of Travellers since it was established 16 years ago.

Also leaving their posts were Hakan Dagtas and Bernard Than, former Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, respectively, who were both part of AGI’s former venture partner in the company.

Travellers is the gaming arm of the Tan family conglomerate Alliance Global Group, led by CEO Kevin Tan.

The appointments complete the transition plan for Travellers since AGI took full ownership on May 30, 2023. Rodriguez has been with Newport World Resorts since August 2022 as chief strategy officer.
