Within the family, we learn how to create order out of chaos. Without the family, we will not know how to treat each other, much less how to respect our elders, love them, love each other, and learn the meaning of "sacrifice," not doing anything that may harm your parents or siblings.
The moral framework we have in our families will be precisely the framework we will have when we move out to deal with our neighbors and the community around us.
I believe preserving the family is directly proportional to society's well-being. There are numerous studies that show many one-parent homes often fall short in providing the necessary ingredients for children to become productive in the future.
‘Woke’
Modern ideologies, particularly this “woke theology”, have not just threatened but actively destabilized the traditional family structure, introducing some notions that undermine its sanctity.
Modern societies like South Korea, Japan, and some European countries are experiencing a decline in their populations, putting a heavy financial strain on the countries' economies.
This insidious creeping of the woke ideology has contributed to this population's decline. The idea of individual freedom, when prioritized over family values, can lead to the mentality that children and spouses are a burden that will curtail this individual freedom.
This "only I matter" philosophy espoused by this woke theology has contributed to a society that is materialistic and devoid of any supernatural aspiration beyond what we can see and feel. As a result, people are choosing to have fewer or no children, leading to a decline in population.
God, front and center
We must put God back in the front and center in all these. He is the supernatural aspiration we should all be seeking for. Our Philippine Constitution behooves us to implore the help of Almighty God to have peace and prosperity in our country.
The Constitution is the document that embodies the spirit and soul of the country and has to be respected by our leaders. If our leaders fail us, we only have our families to fall back on to fight for our family values for our common good. It is in our shared spirituality that we find the strength and inspiration to uphold these values.
Like many who value preserving traditional values, our family is committed to standing against this tide. What we espouse today have a profound impact on our future generations.
I now have five grandchildren and I hope that the values we have taught our children they will impart on them as well. We try to support this by ensuring that family traditions remain alive and meaningful. Regular Sunday Masses, family lunches, and gatherings with relatives, friends, and the community reinforce our spiritual beliefs and strengthen our bonds.
These traditions not only provide a sanctuary of stability and love but also serve as a powerful tool in fortifying us against external influences that seek to divide and confuse.
