Globe Telecom is ramping up its network expansion to ensure that more Filipinos, especially in remote areas, can access fast, reliable mobile and home internet.

"We’re focused on making sure Filipinos get the best mobile experience possible,” said Globe president and CEO Carl Cruz

“This is about more than speed — it’s about making sure every Filipino, wherever they are, can tap into the future. It’s key for supporting future technologies like AI, and as the cost of 5G devices goes down, we want to make sure more people can access these advancements,” he added.

Globe ramps up next-gen mobile gear

    •    By March 2025, Globe added 235 new 5G sites, expanding coverage to over 98 percent in Metro Manila and nearly 98 percent in major Visayas and Mindanao cities.

    •    The network now supports 9.5 million 5G devices nationwide.

    •    Globe also built 487 new towers and upgraded 3,940 sites with Long-Term Evolution (LTE) and Massive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) technology to boost speed and stability.

    •    Under the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC)-led initiative, 600 new cell sites have been launched in remote areas, with a goal of reaching 700 by end-2025.

Each tower, Cruz said, helps bridge the digital divide and delivers vital access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunity.

“Connectivity is no longer a privilege, it’s a right,” Cruz added. “Globe is working to make sure that right is protected, expanded, and felt in every home and every pocket in this country.”
