Robinsons Malls is strengthening its role as a climate-resilient developer, accelerating efforts to build safer, greener, and more disaster-ready commercial spaces across its nationwide portfolio.

Through nature-based solutions and community-centered programs, the company is reinforcing its commitment to protect its customers, tenants, and surrounding communities amid rising climate challenges.

This ongoing work has been recognized at the 2025 Quezon City Green Awards, where Robinsons Malls received the Excellence in Resilience Award for its leadership in safety, disaster preparedness, and sustainable operations.

Community safety and preparedness

The Quezon City government cited Robinsons Malls for its proactive emergency preparedness programs, community-focused response protocols, and long-term investments in public safety.

These measures form the backbone of the company’s strategy to ensure continuity of service while safeguarding thousands of daily mallgoers.

A key highlight of its resilience program is Roots & Runoff: Robinsons Galleria’s Tree Planting and Flood Resilience Project, a nature-based solution that integrates green infrastructure, native tree planting, and stormwater management systems.

The initiative reduces urban heat, mitigates flooding, and contributes to improved climate resilience in Metro Manila.

“We are deeply honored to receive the Excellence in Resilience Award, which affirms our commitment to providing not only safe and enjoyable spaces for our customers but also resilient and responsive communities,” Joel S. Lumanlan, VP for operations and marketing at Robinsons Malls, said in a press statement.

“Our mission goes beyond business continuity; it is about being a steadfast partner to the communities we serve, especially in times of need.”
