Taiwan’s Tourism Administration is targeting 500,000 Filipino tourists by the end of 2024, building on its rising popularity in the Philippines.

During the first nine months of the year, Filipino arrivals reached 332,847, a 37-percent increase from 242,569 in the same period in 2023, it said in a statement.

This growth follows a strong recovery in 2023, with 350,487 Filipino tourists visiting Taiwan—70 percent of pre-pandemic levels.

The Philippines now stands as Taiwan’s top Southeast Asian market and the fifth-largest globally for inbound travelers.

To sustain this momentum, the Tourism Administration partnered with Filipino stars Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos as tourism ambassadors, leading a year-long campaign.

To maximize holiday season travel, the Tourism Administration hosted fan meetings with the ambassadors in Taipei and Kaohsiung last Dec. 14 and 15, 2024.
