The company, backed by the Sy family conglomerate SM Investments Corp., obtained ISO 14001:2015 environmental and ISO 45001:2018 occupational safety certifications from Bureau Veritas covering both sites.
Management’s view
“This milestone affirms PGPC’s alignment with the highest global standards in environmental management and occupational health and safety,” said Napoleon Saporsantos Jr., president of PGPC.
“This reflects the company’s proactive approach to risk management, regulatory compliance, and safe operations across our geothermal assets,” he added.
What this means?
PGPC operates geothermal fields in Tiwi, Albay and Mak-Ban in Batangas and Laguna and is exploring Luzon concessions that could add another 300 MW.
Certification is typically required for operating permits and power supply contracts, reducing regulatory risk to existing output.
