During this period, he expressed hope the LTO will boost the production of official plates, especially for motorcycles, where a significant backlog still exists despite progress for motor vehicles.
“We thank the LTO for extending the deadline. The prohibition will resume by Dec. 31, but we hope that by that time, the LTO will have already studied the consequences of its policy and the steps needed to resolve its own backlog,” Tolentino said in a statement.
The senator also emphasized the importance of issuing license plates promptly, along with the official receipt/certificate of registration for vehicles.
