Onne Multipurpose Terminal (OMT) in Nigeria, managed by tycoon Enrique Razon Jr.'s International Containter Terminal Services Inc., signals a strong outlook for trade by handling the largest container vessel in Eastern Nigeria, Kota Cempaka.

Operated by Pacific International Lines, the 300-meter, 6,660-twenty foot equivalent (TEU) ship loaded and discharged 2,000 TEUs at OMT.

Pacific International plans to regularly deploy similar-sized vessels, welcomed by OMT and the Nigerian Ports Authority.

OMT managing director Jacob Gulmann highlighted the terminal’s advanced facilities, including 750-meter deep-water berths and two mobile harbor cranes.

“We are proud of this latest achievement, which is a testament to the company’s rapid growth as a major container terminal operator in Nigeria,” Gulmann said in a statement.
