FedEx unveils Collaborative Shipping Tool to enhance import efficiency

Federal Express Corp.  (FedEx), one of the world’s leading express transportation companies, has launched the Collaborative Shipping Tool, a new digital solution designed to streamline the import process. 

This tool facilitates real-time collaboration between importers and shippers, improving shipment accuracy and efficiency in global trade.

The launch comes at a crucial time, as global merchandise trade is expected to grow by 3 percent, with imports in Asia projected to rise by 5.1 percent in 2025. 

According to a study by the International Trade Centre, failed pickups and lack of shipment visibility are among the most common challenges faced by importers worldwide. These inefficiencies impact business operations and logistics performance, underscoring the need for digital solutions like the Collaborative Shipping Tool.

Enhancing import efficiency

This new shipping tool enables importers to collaborate directly with shippers in the Airway Bill (AWB) creation process, allowing shippers to confirm shipment details and schedule pickups at their convenience. This reduces failed pickups, enhances shipment accuracy, and improves overall efficiency in global trade.

Expanding digital solutions

The Collaborative Shipping Tool is now available to FedEx import customers across Asia Pacific, Europe, the United States, Canada, the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, and Africa. 

This tool complements other FedEx digital solutions, including the FedEx Import Tool, which will soon launch in the Philippines.

Once introduced, the FedEx Import Tool will offer additional features to further simplify import shipments, reinforcing FedEx’s commitment to innovation and logistics efficiency.
