Chief operating officer Menardo Jimenez Jr. emphasized the need for policy changes, such as simplifying permits, ensuring telco towers are energized, revising lease payments for telco facilities, and adjusting Spectrum User Fees (SUF).
At a recent meeting with the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC), PLDT and its wireless arm, Smart, highlighted the importance of these reforms.
The collaboration between the private sector and the government aims to bridge the digital divide. PLDT plans to activate key GIDA sites in 2024 and roll out up to 1,050 new sites by 2028.
