Zobel, a member of the family’s eight-generation of leaders, will serve a three-year term under the Department of Trade and Industry.
He serves on the board of Ayala Group companies such as Globe Telecom and ACEN Corp. and is also CEO of AC Mobility, the Ayala subsidiary making an aggressive push to grow battery-electric vehicles adoption by 2030.
AC Mobility, formerly known as AC Motors, carries several car brands such as BYD, Kia, Volkswagen, Honda and Isuzu.
