Unicapital Securities launches dividend-focused stock basket for passive income

Stockbrokerage house Unicapital Securities is launching a dividend-focused stock basket for investors seeking passive income.

The new offering, called Steady-Divs, is the first portfolio under its UTrade WealthBasket platform and consists of high-yield stocks selected based on liquidity, dividend track record and financial strength.

“Through professionally managed, research-driven portfolios within the UTrade platform, investors can participate in the stock market without the complexity of selecting and monitoring individual stocks,” Neil Gabaldon, head of UTrade Platform, said in a statement on Wednesday.

“WealthBasket was created to help more Filipinos take that first step by providing access to professionally managed portfolios that are guided by research and long-term investing principles,” added Peter Louise Garnace, equity research analyst at Unicapital Securities.

Direct stock ownership

The portfolio requires a minimum investment of P150,000 and is designed to help investors generate passive income while reducing portfolio volatility during periods of market uncertainty.

Each WealthBasket can hold up to 15 stocks selected and monitored by Unicapital’s research team based on specific investment objectives and market opportunities.

Unlike mutual funds and other pooled investment products, investors retain direct ownership of the underlying shares while benefiting from professional portfolio management and semi-annual portfolio rebalancing.
