At the “KuryenTee” event marking MORE Power’s 5th anniversary, EEI Power Inc., the energy arm of EEI Corp., highlighted its long-running collaboration with the Razon-led utility.
“Our partnership with EEI Power has been instrumental in transforming Iloilo’s energy infrastructure,” said Roel Castro, president and CEO of MORE Power.
“Together, we’ve successfully delivered innovative projects like the Molo Substation, showcasing the power of collaboration in driving progress and ensuring reliable service for our communities,” he added.
Backed by tycoon Enrique Razon Jr., MORE Power has tapped EEI since 2020 for key energy upgrades, including the development and recent rehabilitation of the Molo Substation.
EEI’s major owners include the Yuchengco family and a private firm controlled by the family of House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Recently disclosed plans show that EEI president and CEO Henry D. Antonio is leading a management buyout to acquire the Romualdez’s 20 percent stake in EEI.
