Megaworld Corp., led by tycoon Kevin Tan, is turning to respected global firm JLL to futureproof its developments, even as the local real estate market faces a slowdown.

Through the partnership, JLL, also known as Jones Lang LaSalle, will advise Megaworld on global best practices in office reinvention, smart buildings, and sustainable development.

The move signals Megaworld’s intent to stay ahead of industry trends and future demands in corporate spaces.

Landmark deal

“Over the last 30 years in corporate real estate, this type of partnership has never been done before. We offer a new set of services related to technology, sustainability, and health and wellness, all aimed at further boosting the global standards of real estate products, especially for a publicly-listed real estate developer like Megaworld,” said Joey Radovan, country head, JLL Philippines.

“We are excited about this partnership and we are looking forward to the next several years to deliver outstanding outcomes with Megaworld, he added.

New opportunities

JLL will also provide insights on property tech, wellness, safety, and green certifications to raise the bar on Megaworld’s offerings.

“JLL has been a trusted partner for so many years, and we are excited to embark on this new chapter together. With JLL’s in-depth local and international real estate expertise, we can continue shaping an exciting future for Philippine real estate,” said Lourdes T. Gutierrez-Alfonso, president at Megaworld.

“We are exploring new opportunities to introduce innovative ideas and solutions across our development,” she added.
