“Axelum is foreseeing record delivered volumes for most of its core product segments, primarily driven by rapidly growing mainstream demand for plant-based eating, expanding commercial uses, innovative non-food applications, and other emerging market trends,” the company said in a stock exchange filing on Tuesday.
Axelum, which supplies coconut water to US-based beverage firm Vita Coco, booked a P339-million profit during the first nine months of 2024, a turnaround from its P428 million loss the prior year.
It has yet to disclose full-year earnings for 2024.
“Based on independent publications, the global coconut products industry will continue to see robust demand, rising prices, and supply tightness in 2025. This puts Axelum in a strong position to capitalize on these prevailing conditions amid supply volatility due to climate variability,” the company said.
Management’s view
“We have charted a clear path forward to expand our institutional business, while realizing the massive untapped potential of our consumer segment both domestically and overseas,” said Henry J. Raperoga, president and chief operating officer of Axelum.
“Last year, we were focused on redefining plans, establishing new customer touchpoints, building strategic capabilities, and strengthening our overall distribution network. For 2025, we will concentrate resources on strategy execution and optimizing efficiencies across the business to maximize value generation,” he added.
