The expansion comes through a partnership with the Cebu City Government and will cover 36 stores under Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich and Burger King. Qualified participants will work as customer relations staff and in other customer-facing functions.
Why it matters
The Cebu rollout extends a program that has provided employment opportunities to more than 1,000 senior citizens and PWDs since it began in 2019. In 2025 alone, 451 people were newly hired under the initiative, including 166 deaf-mute employees and 285 senior citizens.
“Bringing this program to Cebu City is an important step in making inclusive employment opportunities available to more Filipinos across the country,” Jollibee Group Philippines CEO and Jollibee Brand Global head Joseph Tanbuntiong said in a statement.
“As we grow and serve more communities, we also want to create meaningful opportunities for people who have the capacity and desire to contribute. We are grateful to the Cebu City Government for working with us to bring this initiative to the Visayas for the first time.”
How it works
The Cebu City Government will help handle applicant intake and profiling, health clearances, training, information dissemination and monitoring. The arrangement follows the support model used in Jollibee Group’s existing partnerships with local governments in the National Capital Region.
Jollibee Group, meanwhile, will provide job orientation and training for qualified applicants and facilitate the opening of payroll bank accounts free of charge.
The bigger picture
The expansion broadens the geographic reach of Jollibee Group’s existing inclusive employment initiative rather than establishing an entirely new program. It also puts participating jobs closer to qualified senior citizens and PWDs in Cebu.
“As your partner from the business sector, the Jollibee Group stays committed to supporting the employment initiatives of the local government. We believe in honoring the invaluable role of every member of society, regardless of age or ability. Most of all, we believe that inclusion becomes more meaningful when opportunities are made real, accessible, and purposeful for the people who need them most,” Jollibee Group Philippines chief human resources officer and Jollibee Brand International human resources head Ruth Angeles said. —Princess Daisy C.
