The power distributor marked its third consecutive year of celebrating Pride Month through activities under its #Mbrace Diversity & Inclusion program, which promotes women's empowerment, as well as LGBTQIA+ and persons with disabilities (PWD) inclusion.
Why it matters
Companies are placing greater emphasis on inclusive workplace policies as they compete for talent and foster employee engagement, recognizing diversity as a driver of innovation and long-term business growth.
This year's activities included rainbow crosswalks at Meralco's headquarters in Pasig and sector offices across its franchise area, employee spotlights, group posters promoting solidarity, and the "Safe to Be Me" webinar focused on awareness, allyship and creating safe spaces,” Meralco said in a statement.
Leadership support
Senior company leaders gathered at the rainbow crosswalk, symbolizing the company's support for diversity and reinforcing its commitment to creating a workplace where employees feel valued, respected and empowered to be their authentic selves.
Meralco said leadership participation reflects its belief that inclusion is strengthened not only through workplace policies but also through visible actions that cultivate respect, empathy and belonging.
The big picture
The company said it remains committed to expanding programs that promote fairness, respect and equal opportunities for all employees.
Through its #Mbrace Diversity & Inclusion program, Meralco aims to foster a workplace culture where women, LGBTQIA+ individuals and persons with disabilities can thrive while contributing to the company's long-term growth. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
