For its 2025 edition, Art Fair Philippines makes a bold move, relocating from a repurposed car park to the green urban oasis of Ayala Triangle in the heart of the Makati financial district.
Happening from Feb. 21 to 23, 2025, Art Fair Philippines 2025 brings an international flair with exhibitors from Austria, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, and Spain, alongside leading Philippine art galleries to showcase curated exhibitions from local and foreign visual artists.
For this edition, specially commissioned works, gallery exhibits, film screenings, and art talks will transform the expansive and central Ayala Triangle —which has undergone a major redevelopment by Ayala Land— into a dynamic and multi-dimensional platform, with design and execution by Nazareno/Lichauco.
ArtFairPH/Projects
Bannering the fair is the ArtFairPH/Projects section, presented by Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), a collection of curated exhibits that celebrate artistic excellence and innovation.
Front and center is a fusion of established masters and emerging talents in Philippine contemporary art including Manny Garibay, Manuel Ocampo, Goldie Poblador, Ryan Rubio, and Jezzel Wee. Continuing last year’s collaboration with the Embassy of Spain in the Philippines as a special project partner, the fair also features the work of Spanish collective SpY Studio.
ArtFairPH/Digital
The ArtFairPH/Digital section, presented by Globe Telecom, features digital media works such as artist and technologist Chia Amisola’s “Kakakompyuter Mo Yan” (That's what you get for using the computer!), a collaborative exhibition showcasing internet art and the third-world online experience.
Then, too, there’s motion graphics artist and engineer Isaiah Cacnio, who brings with him his flare for creative and compelling visual storytelling, exploring the themes of light, movement, and spatial dynamics, transforming ordinary spaces into immersive environments.
Meanwhile, screenings at the Amphitheater will feature more animated and digital work, set in the outdoor tiered space adjacent to the lawn of Ayala Triangle Gardens.
ArtFairPH/Talks and ArtFairPH/Film
ArtFairPH/Talks, presented by the Ateneo Art Gallery and the Museum Foundation of the Philippines, will feature an engaging panel discussion on collection management from a collector’s perspective. Additionally, other insightful talks will explore artists' practices, contemporary art programming, and digital art collecting.
In ArtFairPH/Film, watch out for a screening of “Kono Basho”, the work of award-winning director J Pacena , as well as a special screening of “The F.A.T. Boys!! Episode 1: Each One Teach One, shot by American director Drew Milo.
10 Days of Art
The 10 Days of Art initiative (www.10daysofart.com) extends the fair’s celebration of Philippine contemporary art across the Makati Central Business District, featuring exhibitions by galleries, museums, and local establishments.
Highlights include Briccio Santos' outdoor sculptures in Legazpi Park, Kim Borja's immersive installation in Glorietta, and JEFRË’s Talking Heads at Circuit Makati. Additionally, Neal Oshima and Fotomoto will transform the Legazpi Underpass and Greenbelt 3 Sunken Park into exhibit spaces, while TYLR Collective showcases works at Paseo Villar Underpass.
