The initiative was also recognized as a Grand Anvil Award finalist, making TP the only business process outsourcing (BPO) company among the top awardees.
TP STEP is a flagship initiative under TP’s Impact Sourcing program, providing underprivileged individuals with future-ready skills and career opportunities in the contact center industry. It aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) by fostering employment for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), long-term unemployed individuals, former Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), and underserved communities.
Launched in 2023, TP STEP has forged partnerships with 25 community-based organizations, local government units (LGUs), NGOs, and TESDA training centers. A key milestone of the program was its collaboration with Pasig City in 2024, which resulted in an 88-percent hire rate, demonstrating its effectiveness in job placement. Following this success, TP is set to expand the program to Quezon City, Taguig City, Pampanga, and Davao.
“Winning this award is a proud moment for us at TP. It reaffirms our commitment to an inclusive workplace and creating meaningful societal impact,” said Jeffrey Johnson, chief people officer of TP Philippines.
Through TP STEP and TP for All, TP continues to bridge world-class Filipino talent with transformative careers in the IT-BPM sector, further supporting the government’s countryside development efforts in Visayas and Mindanao.
TP has earned multiple industry accolades, including Best Company to Work For, Sustainable Business Champion, and Great Place to Work certification for seven consecutive years. — Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
