GSIS lauded by ARTA for reforms; top branches, employees honored

The Government Service Insurance System was recognized by the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) as one of the best-performing agencies in promoting efficient, compassionate public service during the culmination of Ease of Doing Business month on June 9, 2025.

“GSIS is one of the best performers in our ARTA Report Card Survey—proof that real reform is possible when service comes with heart,” said ARTA Director General Ernesto Perez.

Perez lauded the agency’s push for digitalization, citing innovations like the GSIS Touch app and online claims processing as models for responsive and citizen-centric governance.

GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso reinforced this message to employees: “Ang tunay na serbisyo ay hindi lang mahusay—dapat dama ang malasakit.” ("Genuine service is not just about excellence—it must come with heartfelt compassion.")

Veloso said GSIS’s transformation is people-driven and anchored on compassion, trust, and accessibility.

The event also highlighted the Galing Serbisyo Commendation Awards, where 10 GSIS branches— Baguio, Butuan, Catbalogan, General Santos, Kidapawan, Roxas, Surigao, Tarlac, Tagum, and the Home Office (NCR 1 & 2)—were honored for outstanding service and compliance with EODB standards.

Additionally, 10 individual employees received commendations for frontline excellence and service innovations that improved the client experience.

Perez concluded with a powerful reminder: “Reform begins with us—in our lens, our counters, our decisions, and in how we treat every client and every co-worker.” —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
