DTI launches AI chatbot to improve frontline services nationwide

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has launched an artificial intelligence-powered digital assistant designed to automate frontline services and simplify regulatory compliance for businesses across the country.

The new tool, called the FAI chatbot, was introduced on June 9 as part of the government’s broader digital transformation agenda. It is now accessible 24/7 via the DTI’s Integrated Registration Information System (IRIS) at https://iregis.dti.gov.ph.

“The DTI is leveraging digitization through this new FAI chatbot to cut red tape, improve access, and empower businesses under the ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ vision,” said DTI Secretary Cristina A. Roque

The AI-powered interface offers real-time responses to inquiries about business licensing, accreditation, and other DTI services, eliminating the need for queues, in-person visits, or email follow-ups.

By integrating AI into public service delivery, the DTI aims to enhance ease of doing business while supporting inclusive and sustainable economic growth. The agency said the chatbot represents a key milestone in public sector innovation and digital governance.

The launch is the latest in a series of reforms intended to modernize government services and reduce bureaucratic inefficiencies in support of entrepreneurship and investment. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
