'Every island in the Philippines' to have internet with Data Lake, ComClark deal

Henry Sy Jr.- and Anthony Almeda-led Data Lake Inc. have sealed a partnership with ComClark Network and Technology Inc. of Pampanga-based Dennis Anthony Uy — a deal between internet powerhouses meant to bring better connectivity solutions to more Filipinos residing in far-flung areas.

Specifically, the goal of the partnership is “to bring digital connectivity to every island in the Philippines through Starlink satellite-based internet,” Almeda told InsiderPH on Thursday.

ComClark and Uy’s Converge ICT will provide fiberoptic-based internet connectivity where feasible, while Data Lake’s Starlink technology will serve as backup services. It may also serve as the primary connection method for areas which have yet to be reached by fiberoptic lines.
