LEED, a globally recognized green building rating system, evaluates key environmental aspects like greenhouse gas emissions, energy and water efficiency, and waste management over a 12-month period.
D&L’s head office exceeded global and local standards in energy efficiency, waste management, and indoor air quality. It achieved a 40 percent water savings and uses zero ozone depletion potential refrigerants.
D&L also put in place eco-friendly policies like reducing paved areas and adding more green spaces. The building’s landscaping encourages biodiversity by creating habitats for birds, insects, and plants.

“As we strive to embody sustainability, we continue to look at ways on how to improve our operations and minimize our environmental footprint,” D&L president & CEO Alvin Lao said in a statement.
“We believe that getting a LEED Certification for our facilities is a great way to ensure that our operations adhere to global best practices when it comes to sustainability,” Lao added. “It is part of our commitment and advocacy to create a sustainable future by offering sustainable products manufactured by truly sustainable facilities.”
