DITO Telecommunity has reinforced its subscriber security measures amidst rising mobile scams.

Atty. Adel Tamano, company spokesperson and chief revenue officer of DITO Enterprise, stated that DITO had already implemented face liveliness, live selfie, optical character recognition, facial recognition, and matching features.

DITO has placed unregistered SIMs in a deactivated state, trained its system to recognize twelve IDs, and launched a cybersecurity information campaign.

As of June 30, 2024, DITO has registered over 14 million users across the Philippines. It also blocked 19,050 fraudulent accounts and implemented account deactivations for non-compliance with registration requirements from Aug. 1, 2023, to July 3, 2024.
