In a statement, DICT said this outage impacts companies worldwide, including some in the Philippines using the affected cybersecurity product.
Assistant Secretary for Legal Affairs and DICT spokesperson Renato Paraiso assured the public that the department’s systems and assets remain unaffected as the department does not utilize the compromised service provider.
He said the DICT’s Cybersecurity Bureau and the National Computer Emergency Response Team are in continuous communication with relevant stakeholders to gather detailed information and assess the incident's full impact.
The department is committed to keeping the public informed and ensuring the integrity of the nation's information and communication systems, it said.
