Villar’s P1-trillion firm gets new name with 1st ticker code change in a decade

Tycoon Manuel Villar Jr.’s P1-trillion property holding company changes its name every few years. Now, it’s getting a new stock trading code.

The affordable housing and cemetery plot developer, currently known as Golden MV Holdings, will soon change its name to Villar Land Holdings Corp.

To reflect its new business direction, the company also decided to change its stock ticker code from “HVN” to “VLC.”

It has used the HVN code since its original public debut in 2016, when it was known as Golden Haven Memorial Park. It became Golden Bria Holdings in 2018 and Golden MV in 2020, yet retained the original ticker.

Last October, Golden MV unveiled plans to acquire property in Villar City, a 3,500-hectare estate spanning parts of Cavite and Metro Manila, for P5.2 billion.

The name change is meant to “align with the recent developments in the company, specifically with the acquisition of companies owning land in Villar City,” the developer said in a stock exchange filing on Friday.
