Travel agents take flight with Cebu Pacific’s renewed growth push

Cebu Pacific, the largest airline but fleet size and volume, is leaning on one of its strongest allies—travel agencies—to power its next phase of expansion across the Philippines and key global markets.

At the 19th Eagle Wings Awards in Iloilo City, the airline recognized 52 top-performing agencies from the Philippines, Asia, the Middle East, and Australia, reaffirming their critical role in filling seats and opening new routes.

The celebration also featured a social night and a business-to-business session with 20 Iloilo tourism stakeholders, aimed at deepening industry ties and sparking new partnerships.

Management’s view

“Each of you plays a crucial role in expanding travel opportunities, connecting people to new destinations, and enriching experiences for countless passengers. You’re a driving force behind every journey, every reunion, and every new chapter that begins with a flight,” Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific president and chief commercial officer, told the awardees in his speech during the awarding ceremony.

Rising hub

Iloilo’s selection as host city highlights its growing role in Cebu Pacific's network, now offering 14 routes from the hub, including new international flights to Hong Kong and Singapore, and an upcoming launch to Bangkok.

These developments reflect Cebu Pacific’s broader push to build regional gateways and tap emerging tourism demand beyond Metro Manila.

“None of these achievements would have been possible without your unwavering dedication and support. Your hard work and commitment have played a crucial role in shaping unforgettable travel experiences for our passengers. You are not just our partners; you are an essential part of Cebu Pacific’s success story,” Arlene Tena, Cebu Pacific director for passenger sales and distribution, told the travel agents.

With its vast agent network and expanding hubs, Cebu Pacific remains the country’s largest domestic carrier, serving 37 local destinations and 26 international cities from Manila, Cebu, Clark, Iloilo, and Davao.
