Under the new contract signed on Jan. 20, 2025, First Gen will continue providing 700 kilowatts of renewable energy (RE) to power Precision Crestec’s Pasig City production facility.
This marks an extension of their partnership, which began in 2021, as Precision Crestec pushes for greener supply chains to meet increasing sustainability demands from customers
“Founded in 1962, Precision Crestec is a leader in high-quality, eco-friendly packaging solutions, catering to industries such as food and beverage, electronics, pharmaceuticals, e-commerce, and retail for both local and export companies,,” Purificacion Dizon, president of precision Crestec Inc., was quoted as saying in a statement from First Gen.
“We deliver durable, cost-effective, and eco-friendly packaging designed to enhance product safety and brand visibility while maintaining the lowest possible carbon footprint,” she added.
Beyond supplying renewable power, First Gen, in collaboration with Pi Energy Inc., provides Precision Crestec with energy efficiency solutions to optimize electricity use. This includes a remote energy monitoring system that allows real-time tracking and analysis of power consumption.
“Our partnership with industrial firms such as Precision Crestec enables them to make sense of their power utilization and make more informed decisions on how to save on electricity costs. Plus, they are able to reduce the carbon footprint in their production through the use of RE,” Carlo Lorenzo Vega, First Gen vice president and chief customer engagement officer, said in the same statement.
First Gen has a renewable energy portfolio of 1,651 megawatts (MW) from solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal plants. Including natural gas plants, it has a total generation capacity of 3,668MW. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
