PLDT, Smart boost connectivity in Cebu’s industrial hub, empowering local growth

PLDT Inc. and its wireless arm, Smart Communications, are ramping up network infrastructure in Mandaue City, Cebu, enhancing connectivity for the area’s growing microentrepreneur and business community.

Known as a key industrial hub, Mandaue City has over 360,000 residents and around 10,000 commercial establishments, making robust connectivity essential for economic growth. 

This expansion supports Smart’s commitment to nationwide coverage, with its combined 5G/4G network now reaching approximately 97 percent of the population.  

“PLDT and Smart are committed to accelerating our network expansion and enhancing our services in highly urbanized areas, such as Mandaue City,” said Roderick S. Santiago, first vice president and deputy network head at PLDT and Smart.

“Our efforts aim to empower local microentrepreneurs across various industries, support government initiatives, and provide our customers with the highest quality experience possible,” he added.
