The big picture
Education was the conglomerate's strongest profit contributor. PHINMA Education Holdings Inc. generated P3.12 billion in revenue and P819.75 million in consolidated net income, supported by enrollment growth during the second semester of school year 2025-2026 and the summer term, alongside cost-management initiatives.
That performance provided a cushion against weaker businesses. Construction materials booked P5.28 billion in combined revenue but posted a P35.59-million net loss amid sluggish construction activity and delayed government spending.
PHINMA Property Holdings Corp. reported P698.02 million in revenue and a substantially larger P378.64-million net loss, as the Metro Manila residential slowdown weighed on results. Its Saludad Township development in Bacolod partially offset the weakness.
Hospitality contributed P300.30 million in revenue and P27.20 million in net income, supported by domestic leisure travel and corporate demand despite geopolitical headwinds.
What’s next
PHINMA expects upcoming capacity additions to provide growth opportunities, including the planned opening of Philcement's Panabo cement facility and Union Insulated Panel Corp.'s Porac plant this year.
“In the first half of the year, our strategic business units continued to adapt to challenging industry conditions and a softer economic environment. As we build on this progress, we look forward to key milestones in the months ahead, including the opening of the Panabo cement facility and the Porac insulated panels plant, as well as the continued growth in student enrollment across our schools,” PHINMA Corp. chair and CEO Ramon R. del Rosario Jr. said in a press statement.
“While economic uncertainty lingers, we remain committed to pursuing opportunities that build on the strengths of our businesses and extend our impact to more Filipino families and communities,” he added.
