Mall giants trim hours as energy emergency hits PH

Major mall operators across the Philippines are adjusting operating hours starting March 30, 2026 in response to the national energy emergency.

SM Supermalls will implement 11 AM to 9 PM (Monday to Friday) and 10 AM to 9 PM (Saturday and Sunday) schedules nationwide.

Robinsons Malls will operate at 11 AM to 9 PM (weekdays) and extend to 10 AM to 10 PM (weekends).

Ayala Malls announced a similar shift to 11 AM to 9 PM (weekdays) and 10 AM to 10 PM (weekends), with mall-specific schedules to be confirmed per location.

Vista Mall will follow 11 AM to 9 PM (Monday to Friday) and 10 AM to 9 PM (Saturday and Sunday) hours.

The coordinated move signals early private sector alignment with government efforts to manage electricity demand while keeping retail activity running.
