In an early commemoration of Migrant Workers Day, the Overseas Job Fair 2024 aimed to address employment needs in sectors such as healthcare, hospitality, accounting, and skilled trades, offering over 5,000 job opportunities in Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and other Middle East countries.
CEB's partnership with UFG includes initiatives like mercy flights, scholarships, and information campaigns to support overseas workers and their families.
"CEB and UFG are both committed to uplift and support our modern-day heroes, the OFWs. By working together, we can make a bigger impact in the communities we serve," said Carmina Romero, CEB's director for corporate communications.
The initiative follows the success of last year's job fair in Cebu and aims to provide livelihood opportunities and hope to the people of Tacloban and surrounding areas.
UFG chair Gemma Sotto expressed gratitude to the partners for their support in bringing employment opportunities to aspiring Filipinos.
