Last month, SM celebrated a milestone with the 10,000th job seeker hired on the spot, significantly impacting Filipino families who depend on them as “bread winners”, it said in a statement.
Expanding its collaboration with government and industry groups, SM aims to enhance job opportunities and upskill the local workforce.
SM’s Job Opportunities Building Skills (J.O.B.S.) advocacy underscores its commitment to investing in people and catalyzing job creation.
SM said it is collaborating with the Private Sector Advisory Council, Department of Labor and Employment, Employers Confederation of the Philippines, Jobstreet by SEEK, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Philippine Exporters Confederation and other organizations to bridge the gap between employers and potential employees.
SM malls serve as effective platforms for matching job seekers with employers, hosting weekly job fairs nationwide.
Beyond job matching, SM offers digital courses in Cloud Foundation, Business Analytics, Fundamentals of Analytics and NoSQL, and Computer Security to upskill employees.
Microcredential training and short courses developed by Asia Pacific College and National University further support workforce competitiveness.
SM said it is inviting government agencies and private organizations to partner in this initiative, aiming for broader economic empowerment. Interested parties can reach SM J.O.B.S. at info@smjobs.ph.
