Ayala Land Inc. emerged as the only Philippine real estate developer in TIME’s World’s Most Sustainable Companies 2026.

The property giant ranked 369th among 750 honorees, climbing 117 places in its second consecutive year on the list, while Globe Telecom was the only other Philippine company recognized.

TIME and Statista assessed more than 5,000 companies using over 20 indicators covering sustainable practices, environmental and social performance, commitments and transparency.

“For Ayala Land, long-term value for our communities and sustainable development go hand in hand — one simply isn’t possible without the other,” Meean B. Dy, president and CEO of Ayala Land, said in a statement.

“This recognition from TIME is deeply meaningful, and it reinforces our commitment to building places designed to last for generations,” she added.

ALI’s sustainability program spans its malls, offices, hotels, construction sites and estates:

  • Renewable electricity or certificates covered 98 percent of its commercial gross leasable area at the end of 2025, up from 96 percent a year earlier.
  • The company diverted 44 percent of its operational and construction waste from landfills as it targets zero waste by 2030.
  • More than 1.5 million square meters of its office space holds EDGE Zero Carbon certification, which ALI says is the world’s largest portfolio of its kind.

“Our sustainability strategy is focused on delivering measurable outcomes at scale across our portfolio,” said Robert S. Lao, chief sustainability officer of Ayala Land.

“By expanding our use of renewable energy, advancing low-carbon buildings, improving resource efficiency, and strengthening climate resilience, we are reducing environmental impacts while enhancing the long-term performance of our assets and estates,” he added.
