Alternergy Holdings Corp., chaired by former Energy secretary Vicente S. Perez Jr.,  has received the first shipment of what will be the largest wind turbines ever installed in the Philippines, marking a key step in the development of its 128-megawatt Tanay Wind Power Project.

The delivery includes twelve 90-meter blades, each as long as a football field, and other components, brought in by ocean barge to a custom-built jetty at Dinahican Port in Quezon.

Once fully assembled, each turbine will stand nearly 200 meters tall, comparable to a 60-story building, and generate up to 8 megawatts of clean energy.

The project, led by Alternergy Tanay Wind Corp., is expected to play a major role in boosting the country’s renewable energy capacity.

“This achievement underscores our commitment to promoting a cleaner, greener future for the Philippines,” said Knud Hedeager, president of Alternergy Wind Holdings Corp. “

We are proud to contribute to the country’s energy transition and help secure long-term energy independence for the Philippines through renewables,” he added.
