In a statement, AG&P said the project marks the largest European chemical sector investment in over 20 years, aiming to build a state-of-the-art ethane cracker facility.
AG&P’s modules, weighing 1,432.47 metric tons, were fabricated at its Batangas yard in the Philippines and shipped to the Port of Antwerp, the world’s second-largest chemical hub.
The ethane cracker plant, expected to produce 1,450 kilotons of ethylene annually, will set new benchmarks in energy efficiency and environmental sustainability, cutting carbon emissions by two million tons annually.
AG&P was selected for the project from among 15 global contenders, thanks to its compliance with stringent European construction standards.
The company will ship a total of 77 pre-assembled pipe rack modules and 58 pre-assembled support structures by February 2025.
Project ONE will provide renewal to the European chemical industry, with INEOS aiming to reduce carbon emissions significantly. AG&P’s involvement in the project highlights its global capabilities and commitment to lowering carbon emissions.
The collaboration between AG&P, INEOS, and Wood Group, as the engineering procurement and construction management partner, signifies a significant milestone for AG&P’s expansion into the European market.
AG&P has employed over 2,100 workers for the project in Batangas, contributing to local employment and economic growth.
