Vivant Transcore Holdings Inc., operating as Vivant Water, has finalized its acquisition of Bantayan Resource Management and Development Corp. (Bremandcor).

The move strengthens its foothold in water distribution and expanding service coverage in Cebu’s Bantayan Island.

According to a company statement, the deal gives Vivant Water full ownership and operational control of Bremandcor, a local water distributor serving the Municipality of Bantayan. The company now aims to provide reliable water services to more than 4,000 households across the island.

Expanding footprint

The Cebu-based utilities group said the acquisition enhances its presence across the water value chain, complementing existing investments in bulk water supply and wastewater management.

Vivant Water is set to operate a 20-million-liters-per-day bulk water facility through Isla Mactan Cordova Corporation, which runs the country’s first utility-scale seawater desalination plant. It also manages wastewater treatment operations in Palawan via the Puerto Princesa Water Reclamation and Learning Center.

Expanding into Bantayan’s distribution network allows the company to deliver more integrated water services as the island gains traction as an emerging tourism destination.

Integrated utilities

“This development completes our vision of bringing reliable water solutions where they are needed most,” said Vivant Water President Jess Garcia. He added that the company is focused on addressing access gaps in geographically challenged communities.

The move reflects Vivant’s broader strategy to integrate essential utilities in growth areas. Since 2022, the group has been the sole provider of stable power in Bantayan through Isla Norte Power Corp.

With the addition of water distribution, Vivant now offers both energy and water services on the island, supporting households, businesses, and tourism-driven growth. The company said this integrated approach aims to ensure consistent access to essential services as local communities continue to develop. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
