In a statement, San Miguel said its chairman and CEO Ramon Ang has instructed the company’s business units to fast-track the delivery of essential food supplies to the hardest-hit areas.
Communities in the Bicol Region, including Albay, have been severely affected, with over 30,000 residents evacuated due to flooding and lahar flows.
Using its extensive distribution network and working closely with local government units, San Miguel is sending truckloads of food to areas where stores remain closed, and access to basic supplies is limited.
“Our priority is to get aid to those in critical need as quickly as possible,” Ang said.
The San Miguel Foundation is coordinating efforts with local officials and distributors to ensure the timely delivery of aid.
Millions of pesos worth of food items are en route to affected provinces, including Albay, Camarines Sur, Sorsogon, Quezon, and Northern Samar, among others, the conglomerate said.
Ang expressed deep sympathy for those impacted and reaffirmed SMC’s commitment to ongoing support in the recovery effort.
