Partnering with Tulong Kapatid, they’ve begun delivering relief supplies to impacted employees and communities through the Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc. (AKFI).
Two shipments of food and medicine reached Naga City on Friday via chartered flights, with more en route by AKFI trucks.
Supporters can contribute through AKFI’s QR code or via PLDT’s Maya. As part of PROTECTA Pilipinas, PLDT and Smart also strengthen telecom resilience with disaster recovery and cybersecurity measures.
“Our network repair teams are continuing to restore connectivity to areas such as Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, and Camarines Sur, where commercial power has come back,” said Cathy Yang, first vice president and group head of corporate communications at PLDT and Smart.
“While the extent of damage to the lines leading to individual homes affect the speed of network restoration, PLDT and Smart are committed to reconnecting affected communities as quickly as possible,” she added.
