This marks less than 1% of Meralco’s total customer base, the utility said in a statement.
The remaining areas without power are concentrated in parts of Cavite and Laguna.
Meralco said aims to restore electricity to all affected customers by the end of the day.
“We thank our customers for their patience. Our teams will not stop until full restoration is achieved,” Meralco vice president and head of corporate communications Joe Zaldarriaga said.
Meanwhile, Meralco said remains on high alert as Tropical Storm Leon approaches, with teams ready to respond around the clock.
The One Meralco Foundation, the company’s social responsibility arm, has deployed personnel to distribute relief packs and solar lamps to communities hit hard by the storm.
