“We are pleased to partner with San Beda to implement investor education programs,” said PSE president and CEO Ramon S. Monzon.
“We hope to develop money management skills among students and help them understand the value of investing so they are equipped to handle their finances even before joining the work force or starting their own business,” he added.
The deal will kick off with seminars, workshops, and hands-on learning designed to boost stock market literacy and sharpen students’ financial skills before graduation. Faculty members will also be tapped to help bring real-world capital market knowledge into the curriculum.
PSE and SBU will open internship slots for students and are exploring the launch of the exchange’s Certified Securities Specialist Course through the university.
“The MOU opens up opportunities for PSE and SBU to collaborate on a variety of financial literacy programs for the SBU community. These activities may potentially include having SBU’s own CSSC offering, stock research competitions, virtual stock trading tournaments, networking events with capital market industry experts, among others,” Monzon said.
