Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod is using sustainability initiatives and community partnerships to strengthen its long-term presence in Western Visayas, underscoring how environmental programs have become part of its hospitality strategy.

The hotel recently celebrated its fifth anniversary since opening on July 8, 2021, a milestone that highlighted its growth as Bacolod City's first internationally branded hotel and SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation's (SMHCC) expanding presence in the region.

Why it matters

The property's environmental and social programs demonstrate how hotels are increasingly creating value beyond accommodations by supporting local communities, reducing waste and building partnerships that reinforce tourism destinations.

Among its sustainability initiatives, Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod, together with the Negros Economic Development Foundation, has helped convert nearly 150,000 kilos of food waste. Its Biodiesel Project with Green Solutions PH has also transformed used cooking oil into more than 3,400 liters of biodiesel donated to coastal communities.

The hotel likewise recognized the Philippine Air Force for supporting 19 community outreach activities over the years.

The anniversary celebration opened with a medical mission in Barangay Canlandog, Murcia, conducted with Agora Refuge Center Bacolod, the Philippine Air Force Tactical Operations Group 6 and local government partners. Residents received free medical consultations, medicines and haircut services.

What they're saying

“A true legacy isn't built within the walls of a building, but within the hearts of the people who run it. Our five-year success story was written by the collective passion of every Moment Maker here today,” SMHCC senior vice president for operations Cathy Nepomuceno said in a press statement.

“When you combine Radisson's world-class 'Yes I Can!' spirit with the undeniable sweetness of the Negrenses, you get an unmatched brand of hospitality that proudly puts the best of Bacolod on the map,” newly appointed general manager Ramon Makilan added.
