Jollibee celebrates Filipino global icons through ‘Bida Best’ campaign

Rooted in its unwavering belief that the Filipino is world-class, Jollibee honors the talent, heart, and resilience of Filipinos making their mark globally through its latest campaign— “Bida Best, Bida Pinoy.”

More than just a campaign, “Bida Best, Bida Pinoy” is a movement that shines a spotlight on exceptional individuals whose achievements in their respective fields inspire millions, according to Jollibee.

The initiative was launched at an event hosted by Gretchen Ho at Whitespace Manila, where Filipinos making waves around the world—from beauty queens to sports and e-sports champions—were celebrated.

Humble beginnings to global success

Jollibee, a global fast food brand with deep Filipino roots, is reinforcing its commitment to nation branding by aligning with achievers who proudly represent the country on the international stage. It’s a strategic move that blends marketing with cultural diplomacy and national pride.

“This is our tribute to the many Filipinos who, like Jollibee, rose from humble beginnings to global success,” said Dorothy Dee-Ching, Jollibee VP and head of marketing.

A key moment of the event was the unveiling of Jollibee’s Bida Best ambassadors, each carefully chosen for their remarkable accomplishments and worldwide influence:

  • Pia Wurtzbach, Miss Universe 2015 and humanitarian

  • Carlos Yulo, double Olympic gold medalist and world champion gymnast

  • Hidilyn Diaz, the Philippines’ first Olympic gold medalist

  • EJ Obiena, world-class pole vaulter

  • Dr. Reina Reyes, astrophysicist known as “the Filipina who proved Einstein right”

  • Quiccs Maiquez, internationally acclaimed toy designer

  • SIBOL, world Mobile Legends champions and national esports team

  • UPeepz, world Hip Hop champions

Each was featured in the Bida Best Talks, a panel segment where they shared insights about overcoming odds, staying authentic, and leading with heart—values core to Jollibee’s brand DNA.

A centerpiece of the event was the Bida Best Booth, an exhibit featuring symbolic items from each ambassador—like Pia’s Miss Universe gown and Hidilyn’s Olympic gold medal. The display aimed to inspire and ignite pride, especially among young Filipinos.

What they’re saying

“This isn’t just about success—it’s about puso,” said Pia Wurtzbach.

“To every Filipino dreamer: don’t let anyone say ‘hindi mo kaya,’” added Hidilyn Diaz.

“Authenticity is your superpower, and your culture is your edge,” said artist Quiccs. “We all carry the flag in our own way,” he added.

Dr. Reina Reyes offered a message for aspiring scientists and dreamers: “I want every Filipino kid to feel free and celebrated to be smart, to be curious, to dream big—as big as the universe.”

Through Bida Best, Bida Pinoy, Jollibee doesn’t just tell a story—it champions a movement, one that honors world-class Filipino excellence rooted in humility, joy, and national pride. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
