Crisol was also senior vice president at the Ty family conglomerate that owns stakes in Metrobank, Toyota Motor Philippines, Federal Land and Metro Pacific Investments.
Following his appointment in 2012, he soon became one of the company’s most familiar representatives to shareholders, analysts and the investment community, leading investor relations while helping steer strategic planning and corporate communications during a period of significant growth for the group.
“Mr. Crisol will be remembered not only for his exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication, but also for exemplifying the GT Capital values of integrity and excellence throughout his years of service,” GT Capital said in a regulatory filing on Thursday.
“GT Capital extends its deepest sympathies to Mr. Crisol’s family and loved ones,” it added.
Award-winning executive
Crisol was also an award-winning executive, previously earning Corporate Governance Asia’s Best Investor Relations Professional honor. GT Capital was also recognized as Best Investor Relations Company.
Beyond GT Capital, he served as a director and audit committee chair of Toyota Sta. Rosa Inc.
Corporate, government leadership
Before joining the Ty-led conglomerate, he was assistant vice president for investor relations at SM Investments Corp. Earlier in his career, he led the Department of Trade and Industry’s Trade and Industry Information Center and concurrently headed its Office of Operational Planning. He also held positions at The Philippine American Life Insurance Company and Merrill Lynch Philippines Inc.
A trained economist, Crisol earned a master’s degree in business economics from the University of Asia and the Pacific and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of the Philippines Diliman. He completed his primary and secondary education at Ateneo de Manila University.
GT Capital said Shermaine N. Chavez will serve as officer-in-charge following Crisol's passing.
